Motobecane was just one of those brands I could think of that sometimes used Swiss threading. I probably shouldn't have been so "specific" with my joke. Sorry about the confusion. It was just a tongue-in-cheek example of the kind of problem only "old school" cyclists would encounter.Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12110998345857993287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8492685525705691186.post-79663241032629009882015-02-12T12:44:59.564-05:002015-02-12T12:44:59.564-05:00That's good advice -- though I was actually ju...That's good advice -- though I was actually just kidding about needing a Swiss-threaded BB -- to bring up the kind of problem only "old-school" cyclists have. That Peugeot issue is a really confusing one. Never do my bikes, nor anything on them, ever leak, die, need charged (Sometimes I use my phone as a radio when I'm riding on the path, that needs charged), need unplugged, etc. Just some lube here and there. I do track total miles if I'm training for an event, but I'm not very consumed by it.

It's funny that flat tires seem to be so very vexing for the modern roadie. Patch kits are too heavy, of course, not that it would matter, because they blow their (single) CO2 cartridge out before the tire is fully pumped.

Tell us more about the Moto!

Wolf.N/Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14710395292374599493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8492685525705691186.post-6989609736970516822015-02-12T11:33:41.080-05:002015-02-12T11:33:41.080-05:00Can't find a swiss BB? Then all you have to do is find French cups. Good luck with that.

Aside: My first race bike was a Peugeot PX10LE that had Swiss BB threading and a Stronglight (French) crankset. Huh?

Paul Thoberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16092911435837615772noreply@blogger.com
