The modern microshifters were added later. It has some scratches and could use a paint. It if chrome yellow and maroon, with black pinstripe. It always gets compliments.MikeNChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796214730814742986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8492685525705691186.post-19182251212615627212015-12-30T06:59:12.452-05:002015-12-30T06:59:12.452-05:00Nice story! Olympic 1968 as my first proper machinw at agw 14 but it was stolen on the morning of the London Brighton ride 1983. Yes I cried and missed it as it was offered for sale at my local bike shops as I peddled off in search on my mates bike. Being a student I had to get to get aomething quickly. The following week end I went to Notting Hill to see a few dozen rusty hwaps. Having spied the shoot in stays and dragged it outit said Mercian in a funny little script. Rusted through wheels and pedals. He wanywd 15 but I got it for a ten pound note. Getting it home it had tiny lettering Super Vigorelli but about 15 years ago found out that they used up other transfers and mine ia in fact a Superlight 1963. The lugs are beautiful and the paint and transfers all original probably why it's not been pinched. Keep up the love! Rob P. I'm still kind of kicking myself for not jumping on that one. But I figured after getting the chrome re-done, and new paint, then shipping to the USA, it was going to add up to a bit more than I could justify right now. Bad timing. But have fun picking colors! Go to the Mercian online frame builder on their website, and sample some color combinations. Beware, though. It's addictive.Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12110998345857993287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8492685525705691186.post-51896713657776874592014-02-15T23:02:15.527-05:002014-02-15T23:02:15.527-05:00Your Superlight is wonderful. The paint is not all that bad but it is 39 years old and I think that I see the beginnings of some rust under the paint. I'm having difficulty deciding on the color but one thing for sure is that it will have a barber pole on the seat tube. Your write-up was was very useful.
