Teasing

Just got a package the other day. A pretty big box, about the size of a flat-screen TV. Opened it up and found a heavily bubble-wrapped bundle inside. Much better than a TV.

I started peeling back some of that bubble wrap and thought Retrogrouch readers might like a peek . . .

Ruby, Emerald, and Gold. Very nice.

More to come . . . Stay Tuned.

  1. Looks like a Mercian. I ordered one this year as well. Still can't decide on the color though.

    3. I was heading towards the comments to ask if it was a refurbished old frame.
Looks great, can't wait to see the progress on it! I wondered where those new wheels were going. (I'm assuming this is where they'll end up?)

    4. More pictures coming soon. Yep - this is where those wheels are going. Got a full Super Record group from about 80-81.

  5. Very pretty ! bubble wrap doesn't sufficiently protect a bike, at least one you care about :-) Pipe insulation is available $2 for an 8 foot section, well worth the cost. Also when you pack your bike, get a 2nd box and cut it up, putting additional side panels down inside the box.

    1. Good advice on the pipe insulation... I'll use this for my Bike Friday when packing for travel.

    2. Another suggestion for packing, I cut up heavy cardboard tubes equal to width of box and rubberband them around frame tubes covered with pipe insulation, before sliding the frame into box. Great job of stopping box compression...One Charlie Roberts, two bikes from son Chas, Mercian 531, and Torpado slx. Really enjoy the blog!
